Federal loans
 
When you apply for federal student loans through FAFSA, your school will probably send you a list of lenders to choose from. You have the right to choose the lender of your choice, so why not choose Clearstar Financial? We're your credit union, here to serve you, with local service and attention.
 
Ready to get started?
 

1. Print out our Guide to the Financial Aid Process.

2. Fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

3. Wait to receive an Award Letter from your school. This letter lists the aid for which you qualify.

4. Next you'll receive a Master Promissory Note. This is your pledge to repay your student loans.
Be sure to list Clearstar Financial Credit Union as your lender; we are lender code 833694.

Or, you can fill out a Master Promissory Note right away for your Stafford or Plus Loan.

5. That's it! You're done. The credit union will take care of the rest of the process.
